100% Focused on Single Varietals

Changes are coming to our Tenor wine lineup and we want you to be among the first to know.

Our fans have come to appreciate our focus on single-varietals: 100% Merlot. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 100% Malbec. 100% Syrah. 100% Chardonnay. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

Using a different label, however, many of you are also aware that we have been producing two Bordeaux-style blends over the years: the Cabernet Sauvignon-based 1:1 and Merlot-based 2:2.

This Fall, those wines – the 1:1 and 2:2 – were moved into the Matthews Winery portfolio as the new Matthews Cabernet Sauvignon and Matthews Merlot. We are doing this for two reasons:

First, Tenor is dedicated to producing true soloists. These are 100% single varietal wines that can stand alone among the best Washington can produce. Every vintage is rigorously selected and meticulously crafted, so that every bottle is a complete expression of that grape, that place, and that moment in time. A true benchmark experience. Exceptional quality. Bold but approachable profiles. Each are unique, and share an uncompromising vision.

Second, Matthews is solely focused on producing Bordeaux-inspired wines, using grapes from some of the top vineyards in Washington State. So it makes perfect sense to expand the lineup at Matthews with a premium Cabernet Sauvignon-blend and premium Merlot-blend. We know these wines have a better home in the Matthews portfolio, and encourage those of you who came to love those wines to continue to source them from Matthews in the future. To secure these wines for yourself, click this link to visit the Matthews web store. Only 300 cases of each of these wines were produced.

We are very excited to streamline our wine portfolio and share the news with you. It’s been a long time in the making. Speaking of, there are three new Tenor wines coming this Fall that we can't wait to share with you. Look for more info about the October release soon.

As always, thank you so much for your passion in what we are doing at Tenor. We love making wines for you!
